Kolkata: The state health department has mandated online registering and uploading of details related to patients who avail services from the PPP model fair price diagnostic centres (FPDC) and dialysis centres in government hospitals. An online portal has been introduced exclusively for this purpose where the PPP partners have been asked to enter each case with details on a real time basis.

Health department sources said this was in order to bring more transparency and smooth functioning in these PPP model centres. Along with diagnostic centres, the Bengal government has set up several dialysis units across government hospitals on PPP model to expand its dialysis services. Prior to this, dialysis service was available only in few selected government hospitals.

“We had started the portal on a trial basis which was restricted to only a few hospitals. But from now on all PPP partners from all hospitals have to enter details of each service they have provided, This will help us monitor the performance of these FPDCs and the dialysis units,” said a state health official.

In case of technical glitches the order said that services have to be provided first in case of emergency patients.
